Crown Trade Clean Extreme for Wikihouse 4.0 project

Crown Trade Clean Extreme for Wikihouse 4.0 project

Crown Trade Clean Extreme has been specified for Wikihouse 4.0, a prototype scheme that could set the benchmark for housing provision in the future. Wikihouse 4.0 is a not-for-profit prototype project, which brings open-source design to the built environment. It involves The Building Centre, along with partners Architecture Zero Zero and ARUP engineers working on a world first – constructing a low-energy, two-storey house that anyone can download, adapt, ‘print’ and assemble for themselves in a few days, for under £50k.

Crown Trade’s Clean Extreme Scrubbable Matt Emulsion is being used throughout the building, which is being erected outside The Building Centre in the centre of the Capital for the London Design Festival 2014.

Debbie Orr, Marketing Manager at Crown Paints, said: “Wikihouse 4.0 gives us the opportunity to showcase the outstanding features of Crown Trade Clean Extreme and our industry-leading approach to sustainability. Clean Extreme Scrubbable Matt will provide a highly attractive, stain resistant and durable finish, which is formulated to last for the long term.”

Crown Paints’ Specification Services is also helping Wikihouse 4.0 with the provision of key services, including carbon footprinting reporting.
