Mumford & Wood feature in beautiful period refurbishment

Conservation™ box sash windows by Mumford & Wood have been specified in the extensive and sympathetic refurbishment of a 260-year old coastal property in South East England. This beautiful three-storey home, which has an extensive basement over two floors, has been in the family for over 50 years and has been cherished and enjoyed. When left to the current owners, what was thought to be no more than a six-week ‘makeover’ is, some months later, an on-going project.

The homeowner commented "The transition from old to new had to be totally authentic and being an aged property meant that we relied heavily on the technical advice Mumford & Wood gave us which is clearly where they have great experience. We had long discussions about how the product could be adapted to overcome complex problems with the surrounding brickwork. Mumford & Wood found a way".

Conservation™ timber windows and doors are manufactured entirely in Britain from clear grade, engineered timber, predominantly Larch or Red Grandis, together with Mahogany, all of which is 100% FSC certified. Made to the British Woodworking Federation’s Wood Window Alliance standards Conservation™ windows and doors are BRE A+ rated.
