A new home nestled in Tickhill, Doncaster, has replaced an outdated 1970s bungalow, ushering in modern sustainable living while respecting the surrounding conservation area.

Collaborating with Terry Huggett Developments, Thread Architects, and local planning authorities, Glazing Vision ensured that the home's design would seamlessly blend with its environment, elevating architectural standards in the area.

Externally, a sleek porch in zinc cladding frames a striking timber pivot door, setting the tone for the contemporary interior. Upon entry, a spacious hallway welcomes with its soaring height, an intentional design choice to make an immediate impact. Within the constraints of the conservation area, Glazing Vision's Pitchglaze Roof Windows illuminate the space, offering both light and picturesque views while harmonizing with the home's bold aesthetic.

The front facade showcases a refined palette of premium materials, creating a visually striking entrance that harmonizes with neighboring properties. At the rear, the home unfolds into a series of modern living spaces, seamlessly connecting indoors with the outdoors, fulfilling the client's desire for light-filled, open living.

Inside, a locally crafted timber doorway leads to a luminous double-height entrance hall, offering glimpses of the surrounding living spaces and gardens. The interconnected living areas, spanning the rear width of the house, encompass the kitchen, dining, and snug areas.

Construction began in March 2020, just before the onset of the COVID-19 lockdowns, presenting challenges throughout the build process. Despite these obstacles, the dedication of all involved ensured the completion of the project by August 2021, achieving exceptional quality.

The design of the Pitchglaze Roof Windows maintains a seamless roof appearance and uninterrupted views from the hall, thanks to their frameless internal appearance. Working with SIP panels, Glazing Vision collaborated closely to ensure a successful integration between the roof structure and roof windows, enhancing both aesthetics and functionality.
